Love Yourself
Slowly I’m figuring out who I am and I am SO thankful. It’s been a long journey to accept and love myself for who I am. I finally feel comfortable in my own skin, to wear what I want, and to look in the mirror and be happy with myself.
Although I’m still a perfectionist and criticize myself a lot, I’ve come a long way. I’ve peeled back a lot of layers of self hatred and built myself up. Now I’m working on allowing myself to build intimate meaningful relationships whether it may be romantic or friendships. I’m great at making friends, but only a surface level friendship where they don’t get to see the good and the bad. I’ve always kept people at a distance because I was afraid that they would see my flaws and not accept me. However now I realize that I need to accept myself first for my flaws and love my self regardless. So that’s what I’m working on now!
Self love is a daily battle to win over yourself and your negative tendencies. You have to practice it everyday and be aware of how you talk to yourself every moment. Talk to yourself how you want others to talk you. Be kind, accepting and understanding with yourself. You’re worth all the love in the world, so start with loving yourself first.
